Revival Health & Wellness Clinic draws blood and orders lab testing in-office, eliminating the extra trip to a separate lab for most patients. Both standard medical panels and functional/integrative panels are available, with results returned within days for most tests.

FUNCTIONAL AND INTEGRATIVE PANELS
For patients pursuing more detailed metabolic, hormonal, or nutritional workup beyond standard insurance-covered tests, we order specialty panels through reference laboratories. These include:
- Comprehensive micronutrient testing (vitamin and mineral status)
- Advanced thyroid antibody and conversion panels
- Comprehensive stool analysis (digestive function, microbiome)
- Food sensitivity panels
- Heavy metal screening
- DUTCH or comprehensive cortisol/sex hormone panels (urine-based)
An honest note about functional testing: not every panel that’s available is necessary or rigorously evidence-based. Some functional panels are excellent clinical tools; others have weaker validation than the marketing suggests. We discuss which panels add useful information for your specific situation and which don’t, so you’re not paying for tests that won’t change your treatment plan.
Our reference labs. For send-out tests, we primarily use Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center (regional clinical lab, fast local turnaround for Marion County and Effingham-area residents) and Quest Diagnostics (national network, used for specialty panels and patients whose insurance prefers Quest).
In-office point-of-care testing. We perform the following while you wait, with results typically within minutes:
- Rapid strep, influenza A/B, and COVID-19 testing
- Urinalysis (UA) with dipstick and microscopy
- Glucose and hemoglobin A1C
- Pregnancy testing
HOW LAB TESTING WORKS AT REVIVAL
- Visit or telehealth consult — we discuss your symptoms, history, and goals; agree on which labs to order.
- Lab draw — most blood draws are done at the clinic. Some specialty tests may need a separate lab or may be a urine or saliva collection done at home.
- Results in days — most standard panels return within 1–3 business days. Specialty functional panels may take 2–3 weeks.
- Results visit — we review the results with you in person or by telehealth, explain what the numbers mean for your situation, and update your treatment plan accordingly.
You’ll receive a copy of your results regardless of how we deliver them. Numbers without interpretation are confusing; we make a point of explaining what’s significant, what’s borderline, and what’s not worth losing sleep over.
INSURANCE AND COST
Standard medical panels are typically insurance-covered when ordered for an appropriate clinical indication. Coverage rules vary by plan and diagnosis code; we order according to clinical need and let you know if a panel is likely to require self-pay.
Functional and integrative panels are often self-pay because most insurance plans don’t cover them. The reference labs we use offer transparent self-pay pricing that we share before you commit. HSA/FSA payment is generally accepted for medically-indicated testing.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to fast?
Some panels require fasting (most lipid panels, fasting glucose, fasting insulin). We tell you at scheduling whether your specific orders require fasting. When in doubt, fast for 10–12 hours overnight, drink water, and bring your medications to take after the draw.
Can I order labs without an appointment?
We order labs as part of clinical care, which means there’s an associated visit (in person or telehealth) to determine what to order and to review results. We do not run a “labs only” or self-direct testing service.
How fast can I get hormone panel results?
Most hormone panels return within 2–3 business days from a Monday–Wednesday draw. Specialty hormone panels (DUTCH, comprehensive thyroid with antibodies) can take 5–10 business days. We’ll set expectations at the time of the draw.
Are home test kits as good as in-office labs?
It depends on the test. Some home collection methods (saliva cortisol, dried blood spot for certain markers, finger-stick lipid for general screening) are reliable enough for clinical use. Others marketed direct-to-consumer have weaker accuracy or no clinical interpretation included. If you bring home test results to a visit, we’ll review them and let you know if a confirmatory in-office test is worth running.
Can I get my old records’ lab results sent here?
Yes. Sign a records release at your visit and we’ll request labs from your prior providers. Bringing recent labs (PDF or paper) to your first visit often makes the visit more efficient while we wait for the formal record transfer.
